We consider our location and stunning views to be some of the finest in West Cork. Set in 1.7 acres and approached by a half-mile quiet country lane, Bay House and gardens overlook Dunmanus Bay.

Your views stretch westward for over twenty miles, out into the Atlantic, framed by the Sheep’s Head and Mizen Peninsulas and with a backdrop of the Beara Peninsula visible in the distance. Stone steps from the garden’s sea wall lead you straight onto a slate and shingle beach. Many holiday rentals claim to be waterfront but we really are the real deal!

The Mizen Peninsula's sandy beaches, including the beautiful Blue Flag beach at Barley Cove, are just a short drive away and the Sheep's Head Peninsula with the Goat’s Path is famous for having many miles of scenic and rugged walks. The friendly and lively village of Durrus is only 1.5 km away, where there is a grocery shop, pubs, lovely restaurants and a café. There is also a post office and a general hardware store that also sells fishing equipment. The historic waterside and market town of Bantry is approximately 8 kilometres away.

At secluded, comfortably furnished Bay House you can enjoy our unpolluted Atlantic air, our clear, blue-green seawater, and a host of holiday activities such as hill-walking, sea fishing, riding, golf, sailing, whale watching, kayaking or cycling.

Or maybe you would rather just relax and watch the world go by, sit and talk over a pot of tea or a quiet drink? Chat with the locals, perhaps, and find out where the music 'session' will be that night. Or you could savour the rich historical heritage of the area with its standing stones, ring forts and stone circles, and the atmospheric fortifications from the time of the Napoleonic Wars. Or you can venture up through the Healy Pass and the mountains into County Kerry and the famous Lakes of Killarney.

We have a great number of truly great restaurants and bars catering for all tastes together with numerous Farmers’ Markets for you to browse through and sample local produce.
